Transmission Repair and Rebuild
A car or truck transmission is a highly specialized piece of machinery responsible for transferring power from the engine and delivering it to the wheels. Without a fully working transmission, your vehicle will not function as it should.
Nobody wants their automatic or manual transmission to go out on their vehicle, including us. We never enjoy telling someone the bad news that their transmission needs removed, rebuilt, and replaced.
However, like any part of our vehicles, with enough use and miles, even the best transmissions break down.
Here are some warning signs that indicate a failing or bad transmission:
If you recognize any of these symptoms in your vehicle, call us immediately at 314-426-2818.
We will work with you over the phone to understand the symptoms experienced by your vehicle, then schedule a time for your vehicle to undergo a detailed analysis to determine exactly what work needs performed.
If your transmission needs to be repaired, we will provide you an honest and fair estimate to get the job done right. When we fix your transmission, we do it to last and we guarantee it to last.

Here are some warning signs that indicate a failing or bad transmission:
- Gear slipping, or your vehicle transitioning from one gear to another outside the usual times of revving up or slowing down.
- Red, dark red, or maroon fluid leaking from your engine, sometimes caused by a small space or gap in the gasket, torque, converter or fluid lines. New transmission fluid smells similar to petroleum but burnt transmission fluid will have a dark brown color and smell distinctly burnt.
- Transmission Warning Light, or some other type of check engine light, service required, or maintenance required light on inside your vehicle.
- Slow or delayed engagement of your vehicle, which may feel like your vehicle takes longer than usual to shift from one gear to another or to acquire power and accelerate.

Full Service Auto Repair
Regardless of your vehicle's age, make or model, thousands of different parts must work together to propel your car, truck, van, or SUV down the road.
Our auto repair shop performs nearly every repair necessary to get your vehicle running as it should.
Starters & Batteries
A vehicle that won't start could have one of many problems. It could be your vehicle's starter is bad and need repaired or replaced.
Another possible cause is your vehicle's battery. Every three to four years (or more if you're blessed), the car battery in your vehicle stops working and needs replaced. Eventually the battery cells stop holding a charge and no longer produce the voltage necessary to start your vehicle and power the many computer systems.
When this happens your vehicle needs a new battery.
Alternators
Your vehicle's alternator is a third possible cause for your vehicle not starting. Your alternator is like a small generator powered by the engine that recharges your battery while your vehicle is running. When we suspect your car's alternator may be faulty, we first perform an alternator test to determine whether it is still generating power. If not, we either repair or replace the alternator with a new one.
Belts and Hoses
Many different belts and hoses work together under the hood of your car or truck to create a fully functioning vehicle. Over time, these belts and hoses begin to degrade, crack, or split and lose their strength and ability to hold force and pressure.
When this happens, any number of problems begins to materialize in your vehicle. You may notice a reduction in power to your engine, you may hear loud squeaking noises when you turn or press the ignition, or a hose may break leaking liquid onto the hot engine causing steam to hiss.
Our certified mechanics have the skill and experience necessary to diagnose and fix any belt or hose issue in your automobile. Call us today for a free estimate or to schedule a time when we can service your vehicle.
Radiators
The radiator is another vital component of your vehicle. Like its name, the radiator "radiates" or diffuses heat away from your engine, keeping your engine at the optimal temperature.
When your radiator begins to go, you may notice your vehicle heating up to an unsafe degree, or even overheating, causing your vehicle to break down. Inside the radiator is radiator fluid. This fluid is designed to keep your vehicle cool during the summer and prevent your vehicle from freezing up in the winter.
If you have any concerns with the performance of your vehicle's radiator, or if you notice your vehicle's internal temperature gauge rising above half, call the auto mechanics at Complete Transmission. We will diagnose your vehicle, identify the root problem, and get you back on the road in a timely manner.
Mufflers
Your vehicle's muffler transfers the combusted gasoline from your engine to the outside air. The better your vehicle can exhaust the exploded gasoline, the more efficient your vehicle will operate.
Sometimes your vehicle's muffler rusts or gets a hole or crack in it. This can cause your car or truck to make a louder noise when running or driving down the road.
Some people like the sound of a louder muffler and a less efficient muffler system, but usually a failing exhaust system results in a failed safety and emissions inspection, undoubtedly at the most inconvenient time.
To keep your vehicle running as smoothly and quietly as possible, call the automotive experts at Complete for friendly, affordable, and honest service. You won't regret it.
Clutch Repairs
The clutch on your vehicle is responsible for putting your vehicle into neutral (not in gear) and releasing or disengaging your engine from the transmission. Once disengaged, your free to shift your vehicle's transmission into the desired gear.
However, over time your vehicle's clutch wears out and needs to be replaced. If you car is having trouble shifting into neutral, give us a call for a full diagnostic of your vehicle to see if the clutch may be the problem.
Fuel Injections
Sometimes when your engine or vehicle is performing poorly, you may have an issue with the fuel injection system. The fuel injectors work by spraying a fine mist of gasoline into each piston. This fine mist of fuel is then ignited by the spark plugs creating a tiny explosion that propels the piston upward.
This upward forcing of the piston provides power to the vehicle and keeps your automobile driving down the road. When your engine gets too much, too little, or not the right mist of fuel, your vehicle's performance begins to degrade.
If your engine starts performing poorly or lower than your expectations, bring your vehicle by or call us to schedule a time we can perform a full diagnostic scan.
Our auto repair shop performs nearly every repair necessary to get your vehicle running as it should.

Over enough time, you can severely damage your engine if you don't have a routine oil change performed on your car. Your vehicle needs clean oil and a clean filter to keep your engine running clean and at full throttle. We've reviewed nearly all the brands of synthetic oil and all the brands of oil filters and use only the best in your vehicle. When the auto repair technicians at Complete Transmission & Auto perform your oil change, we also review the vehicle for any other noticeable problems or issues. Vehicle Diagnostics
As today's vehicle computer systems get more and more complex, you need a team of mechanics with years of experience to diagnose and resolve the problems and codes reported by your vehicle's computer system.
We've been in the auto repair business long enough to see first-hand how computer systems in vehicles matured. We also know what it takes to diagnose vehicles the correct way and not spend hours hunting down rabbit trails of various vehicle warning codes. We first diagnose your vehicle and read the codes logged by the engine system. We then clear the codes and take your vehicle through a thorough road test so it logs the codes currently causing the problem you have been experiencing. This ensures we know exactly which diagnosis codes are at fault. Once we have an accurate diagnosis, we determine the work required for your vehicle, work with you so you understand what your vehicle needs, then perform top notch service with the best quality parts so your vehicle gets back into full operation. I would recommend their honest, prompt, and knowledgeable service to anyone in need of high quality and reasonably priced transmission repairs.
